Objectives
The key objectives of Shrewsbury House are:
1. To provide high quality accommodation to meet the individual needs of each Young Person, in which they will have an individual room (with their child if a parent), and shared communal areas for recreation, cooking, bathing, toileting, and laundry.
2. To advise, assist and support each Young Person in developing their independent living skills in all areas of their lives and in accordance with individual Pathway/Care Plans.
3. To ensure that each Young Person is provided with the emotional support to assist them in moving onto independence, and to assist Young People in building and maintaining appropriate relationships with others.
4. To make links with local employment opportunities and educational or training schemes to ensure that each Young Person is given opportunities to become fully active citizens.
5. To ensure that the home is identified as part of the community by encouraging care and respect for neighbours and the community.
We place a strong emphasis on planning and reviewing to ensure that our aims and objectives in preparing Young People for independence are being achieved.
