Shrewsbury House - Admissions

Twenty Four-Seven will accept emergency referrals. However, placements will ideally be on a planned admission, with the opportunity for the workers, the Young Person, and, if appropriate, their family to visit beforehand.

To assist in making decisions about the suitability of the placement, the referral information is detailed and includes a preliminary assessment regarding the level of support required in all areas of independence.

An interview of the Young Person will take place prior to admission, and each Young Person will be allocated a keyworker, who has responsibility for co-ordinating all aspects of their accommodation. A placement agreement meeting will take place as soon to admission as possible with all relevant people to the Young Person in order to construct a placement agreement and set clear objectives and conditions of the placement.

For admissions on an emergency basis, the above information will be required the next working day, and Twenty Four-Seven will reserve the right to terminate the placement if it is considered unsuitable. A keyworker will similarly be appointed on the day of admission, and a placement agreement meeting will take place within one week of placement.

Applications can be made prior to the Young Person’s sixteenth birthday in order to plan and prepare their admission.

On admission Young People will need bedding, toiletries, towels, clothing and food, in addition to their allowances.
