The Independent Flats consist of 5 self-contained flats within a converted house, and will be ideally suited for Young People who have developed their independence skills at Shrewsbury House, and are ready for the next stage of independence. It will also be available for Young People or Young Parents who have not lived at Shrewsbury House, but have developed independent living skills and require medium to low support through daily outreach support packages.

The property has undergone extensive renovation to meet the requirements as a House of Multiple Occupancy and to provide high quality rented accommodation. This includes meeting the requirements in relation to fire detection, emergency lighting and fire fighting equipment, as well as the provision of modern safe accommodation.

24-7 has a contract with ‘Supporting People’ for the provision of support to Young People Leaving Care aged 16 to 24 years, and Young Parents aged 16 to 24 years. ‘Supporting People’ operate a Quality Assessment, and the organisation is monitored and reviewed against these objectives.
