Hillsborough Flats - Admissions
Residents stay at the Flats through Licences Agreements - these will only be offered on a planned basis. To assist in making decisions about the suitability of the Young Person, the referral information is detailed and includes a preliminary assessment regarding the level of support required in all areas of independence. There is an expectation that Residents will have already demonstrated their abilities to live semi-independently and that they have the emotional maturity and commitment to living independently. They are ideally suited for Young People who are living at Shrewsbury House and are ready to move onto the next stage of independence and to keep the consistency of the staff team etc. Young People who have not previously used the services of Twenty Four-Seven will be accepted on a planned basis subject to a successful interview and needs assesment.
An interview of the Young Person will take place prior to a Licence and Support Agreement being offered, and often we contact previous placements/accommodation providers, or professionals regarding suitability and additional information for a full assessment of needs.
Each Resident will be allocated a Keyworker, who has responsibility for co-ordinating all aspects of their accommodation. A meeting will take place as soon to admission as possible with all relevant people to the Resident in order to construct a Support Agreement and set clear objectives and conditions of the Support Agreement.
As the flats are largely unfurnished, Residents will need furniture, cooking and eating equipment, bedding, toiletries, towels, clothing and food, in addition to their personal allowance (if applicable). Residents will need to furnish the flats themselves, and it is anticipated that they will use this opportunity from a leaving care grant from the placing authority or a Community Care Grant (where applicable).
