Objectives 1.To provide high quality accommodation. 2.To advise, assist and emotionally support each young person in living independently in all areas of their lives. 3.To encourage care and respect for neighbours and the community. 4.To make each young person aware of the opportunities for employment, education and training opportunities available. 5.For parent and child placements, additional support will be available. 6.To assist the young person in their parenting skills in ensuring that the child is provided with safe and appropriate care and the child’s welfare is promoted. 7.To prepare Young People for living independently with minimum support. Where ongoing assessment is required we aim to assess the parents ability to adequately parent their child within a community environment but with the security of daily visits and on-site staff monitoring and support (not 24 hours on site). For young parents we aim to ensure their individual needs as a young person are addressed and their lifeskills are improved, in order to assist and support them in meeting their childs needs. |
