About Us

Twenty Four-Seven is an independent company, established in April 2001, which was initially set up to provide a range of services to Young People and Young Parents and their children. Our main focuses are:

• Assisting and supporting Young People, aged 16+, in the transition of Leaving Care and moving onto adulthood and independence,
• Supporting Young People and Young Parents who have not experienced local authority care, but need support in developing their independent living skills
• Undertaking Parenting Assessments and Community Support for all Parents.

As an experienced staff team, we are able to work with people with a wide range of needs. The services provided are:

• Shrewsbury House is a communal house for 5 Young People (or Young Parents and their child), who require high support and intensive preparation for independence through the provision of 24 hour staffing.
• Gawber Road is a small Residential Family Centre for a maximum of 3 Families/Parents and expectant parents.
• The Independent Flats In Barnsley and Sheffield consisting of self-contained flats, and providing medium to low support through daily outreach support packages and access to 24-hour support when required.
• We also provide outreach packages to support Young People living independently, outreach packages for family support, Community based or non residential Parenting Assessments and supervision of contact.

Staff Group

The two Directors, Jane Williams and Caroline Huxford, are the joint and sole owners of the organisation. Jane and Caroline are both Social Worker qualified and experienced as child care practicioners and Managers. They are both registered with G.S.C.C.

The Management Team are all qualified and experienced social work practitioners and managers. The Managers are experienced practice teachers for Social Work students, and two hold the Practice Teaching Award. There is often a Social Work student on placement. Twenty Four-Seven is accredited with SYNEM Voluntary Organisation, and it is recognised as a positive learning environment for Social Work degree students on all placements.

The Staff team consists of 3 Managers, Senior Support Workers, Support Workers and Sessional Support Workers. All staff are expected to have NVQ Level 3 and Senior Staff are currently working towards NVQ Level 4 in Care. The Staff team are extremely committed and provide a caring, respectful and responsive approach to their work.

The Organisation has achieved the Investors in People Award.
